Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information NABS BEAUTY collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are
NABS BEAUTY is a lash and brow business owned and run by Nabeelah [surname / registered business name, if any]. For POPIA purposes we are the "responsible party" for the personal information described here. Nabeelah is our Information Officer.

2. What we collect
We only collect what we need, and mostly directly from you.

3. How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and to arrange, confirm and manage your appointment.
- To provide your lash or brow treatment safely and suitably for you.
- To send you our newsletter, only if you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- To show your before-and-after photographs in our portfolio or on social media, only with your specific consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time, and we will remove the images from our website and accounts.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We process your information with your consent, to take steps you have asked for (such as booking an appointment), to meet legal obligations, or for our legitimate interest in running and improving the business. We never sell your personal information.
4. Health information
Information about allergies, sensitivities or eye conditions is health information, which POPIA treats as special personal information. We ask for it only so we can treat you safely, we use it only for that purpose, and we process it with your consent. Please share only what is relevant to your treatment.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only when we need to, with service providers who help us run the business. They act on our instructions and must keep your information confidential and secure:
- Enquiry form service: Netlify Forms, which delivers form submissions to our email.
- Online booking: Cal.com, which manages our appointment calendar and sends booking confirmations.
- Email and newsletter provider: [e.g. Mailchimp / MailerLite].
- Website hosting: Netlify.
- Messaging: WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us that way.
Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we use providers that are subject to data protection laws or agreements giving protection similar to POPIA, as POPIA requires.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website itself does not use advertising cookies. [Choose one before launch: "We use Plausible Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without collecting personal information." or "We use Google Analytics, which uses cookies. We ask for your consent before it is enabled."]
We count clicks on product links by product and page only, to understand which products interest our visitors. These counts do not identify you.
7. Affiliate links and other websites
When you click a product link, you leave our website for a retailer such as LashXtend or The Natural Africa. The retailer and its affiliate network may use cookies to record that you came from NABS BEAUTY, so that we can earn a commission. Your purchase, and any personal information you give the retailer, are handled under the retailer's own privacy policy, not this one. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
8. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to [12 months].
- Client records and treatment notes: for as long as you are a client, and then up to [3 years] from your last appointment, unless the law requires otherwise.
- Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
- Portfolio photographs: until you withdraw your consent.
After that, we delete or anonymise your information securely.
9. Keeping it safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include secure (HTTPS) connections, password-protected accounts and limiting access to Nabeelah. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
10. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- object to how we process your information, and withdraw consent at any time;
- refuse direct marketing (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link);
- complain to the Information Regulator.

11. Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with its date at the top.
